Acting Sergeant Major Samuel Buckley

Samuel was born in 1897 in England. He fought in the First World War in the British military. He later married Ann Eliza Hawley, and the couple emigrated to Canada. They lived at 7 Willow Street with their son Terrance. Samuel worked as a salesman for Prudential Insurance when he enlisted during the Second World War. He served in C Company of the Dufferin and Haldimand Rifles and rose to the rank of Acting Sergeant Major.

Samuel died in 1968 and is buried in the Paris Cemetery.
