Lieutenant James Bruce Cruickshank
Bruce Cruickshank was born in Ayr in 1916, but became a Parisian when he married Ilene Gertrude Marlett in 1936. The couple rented a home at 77 Capron Street. Bruce was working as a farmer and delivered groceries when he enlisted. After WWII, he became a driver for Erle Taylor and moved to a house on Spruce Street to accommodate his growing family. The Cruickshanks has five children. Bruce died in 1963 and is buried in the Paris Cemetery.
