Lance Corporal John Allan Edgar

Jack Edgar was born in Paris in 1925. His father, James Deans Edgar, worked at Edgar and Churchill Garage at 134 Grand River Street North. The family lived next door at 136 Grand River Street North. Jack served with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry during WW2 and rose to the rank of Lance Corporal. In 1948, he married Margaret Mary Emily Morand in Tecumseh, in Essex County. The couple had a son, James Patrick Edgar who died at the age of 13. Jack’s wife died in 1977, and Jack died in 1982, at the age of 57 years. They are buried together in the Sacred heart Catholic Cemetery in Paris.
