George William Footitt

George was born in Galt on October 29, 1918 to Walter ( Veteran) and Maud. Younger brother to Edward (Veteran of WW2). The 1921 Canadian Census tell us that the family had moved to Acton, where they were renting a house and George had another brother, Robert. By 1931 the family had added a daughter, Dorothy and owned a home at 89 Crescent St., Acton, where George grew up.

Little is known of George’s military history other than he listed his occupation as “soldier” when he married Audrey Sanford of Toronto on July 18, 1942.

George died in 1999 and is buried in Coburg, Ontario.
