Albert "Ab" Louttet

Albert was the son of James Louttit (WW1) and Margaret Heatley (war bride) and brother of Robert (WW2). He was born in 1920 and he e lived with his lived with his family at 196 McDonald Blvd., Acton.
When Bob and Albert enlisted in the Army they were called to the main office…the man in charge enquired as to whether the two were brothers and queried if so, why their last names were spelled differently. Ab had signed up as “Louttet”, and Bob as “Loutet”. Bob decided to go along with Ab and so history changed the spelling of the family name. (Interestingly, when their father James enlisted in WW1, he spelled the family name Louttit).
Little is known about Ab’s experiences in the service.
Ab survived the war and returned home to marry married Mary Shultis. Ab passed away in 1974 and is buried at the Rockwood Cemetery.
