Flight Officer William Daniel Keen
William Keen was born in Paris in 1922. He was named after his father, William Stephen Keen. His mother was Mary McCaffery. He was the third of the couple’s seven children. The family lived at 107 Walnut Street. He served as a Flight Officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross “for acts of valor, courage or devotion to duty while flying in active operations against the enemy.” After his service during the war, he married Lillian Joyce Dickson of Wausau, Wisconsin. They had a son named John Edward Joseph “Jack” Keen. William died at the age of 77 and is buried with his wife in the Paris Cemetery.
