Lieutenant Douglas Arthur Moss
Douglas Moss was born in Paris in 1918. He was the eldest son of Eldrin and Margaret Moss who lived at 40 Emily Street. His photo is in the Paris District High School yearbook of 1935. He enlisted in the 14th Field Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery as a Lieutenant. He was one of 156,000 Allied troops who participated in the D-Day invasion of Nazi-occupied France in 1944.
After the war, he married Marjorie Jean Whillans of Ottawa and became manager of a Toronto Dominion bank. The couple retired to Belleville. Douglas died in 2004 and is buried with his wife in the Belleville Cemetery.
