52 Grand River Street South

Major Eric Baker Patterson

Dr. Eric Patterson was born on River Street in West Brant (now Paris) in 1903. At 28 years of age, he married Eleanor Hawke Hazlewood in Port Colborne, Ontario. The couple briefly lived in the Asa Wolverton House at 52 Grand River Street South.

He frequently wrote to the Paris Star from overseas, sharing chatty accounts of the “Paris Boys”. He returned to Paris after the war, but he died shortly after, in 1950, when he was 47 years of age and is buried in the Paris Cemetery.
