Private William “Billy” Prine

Lived at 61 Dumfries Street and with his brother enlisted during the Second World War with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry.

Billy died while in the service, killed in the attack on Dieppe. He was 25 years of age. He is buried in the Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery.
