Flight Officer Calvin William Reid
Cal Reid was born at 19 Banfield Street in Paris in 1922. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in London in 1941. He served two years overseas I Bomber Command, flying Wellingtons, Dakotas, Lincolns, and DCs over Europe and as far away as Burma. He took hundreds of photos of planes he flew, the pilots who flew them, and the places they served. The collection is now in the archives of the Paris Museum. In 1947, he married Marguerite (Gus) Guthrie with whom he had worked before the war. They remained in business together throughout their lives and had two children, Peter and Janice. Cal Reid died at the age of 99 in 2022. He is buried in the Paris Cemetery.
