Melvin Veall

Melvin was the son of William and Ada Veall. He had two younger brothers, John and Allan, who were also in military service. The family lived at 50 Laurel Street in Paris. Melvin was an active member of the Paris Baptist Church. In addition to an interest in music, he was a player in the rural hockey league. He completed his schooling in Paris and enlisted with the Queen’s York Rangers in 1942.

Melvin was serving with the Royal Regiment of Canada when he was killed in action on July 16 1944.
