Acting Corporal Norman Barrowcliffe
Norman Joseph Barrowcliffe was born in England in 1916. His family immigrated to Paris before his fifth birthday, and the family lived in a house on Main Street. Norman was a bachelor working at the Brantford Cordage Company when he enlisted in 1942. At the time, he lived with his parents at 33 Catherine Street.
Norman served in the Dufferin and Haldimand Rifles, C Company, and achieved the rank of Acting Corporal.
When the war ended, Norman married Rita Mary Granton. He lived until 1988. He is buried with his wife at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Paris.
