Brigadier-General Terrence Fleming Flahiff
Terrence Fleming Flahiff, was born in Paris in 1907 and had a distinguished career as a soldier, civil servant and businessman. According to the Census of 1931, he was a hotel manager in Paris. He later studied law and married Francoise Sevigny, the daughter of the Chief Justice of Quebec.
During the Second World War, he rose to the rank of Brigadier-General and was honoured to be named a Commandeur in the Orde van Oranje Nassau-met-zwaaren in 1947. This Dutch award suggest that he was serving during the freeing of the Netherlands from German control. He later became a senior public servant in Ottawa and a business executive in Montreal.
He died in Montreal in 1995.
