Captain Walter Oldham

Walter, was born in Nottinghamshire, England in 1905. He emigrated to Canada eight years later with his parents, Frederick and Kate Oldham. The family initially lived on Mechanic Street, but by the time of the war, they were living at 236 Grand River Street North.

Walter went to school in Paris, and by 1931, he was working as a printer at Walker’s Press. In 1942, he enlisted in the Canadian Army and rose to the rank of Captain as an instructor in the infantry.

After the war, he returned to Paris and worked in advertising and promotion at Mary Maxim. He died in 1981 and is buried in the Paris Cemetery.
