Clarence Cecil “Cluck” Watts

The Watts family lived at 15 Railway Street. Oliver and Florence May Watts had nine sons, and six of them served in the Second World War.

Clarence Cecil “Cluck” Watts, born in 1917. Clare served as a Gunner in the war, in the 54th Battery, 1st Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, Canadian Army Service Force. He saw service through the Sicilian and Italian campaigns. He returned home to work for the Canadian National Railway, first as a section man, then at the coal chutes in Paris, then at the roundhouse in Brantford. In 1961 he got a job with the Paris Public Works Department, where he worked for 22 years until he retired. Clare had married Audrey May Raycraft, also from the Junction area, in 1947. The couple lived on Market Street. Clarence died at the age of 78 and is buried in the Paris Cemetery.
